PRESS RELEASE

Groningen, the Netherlands, 5 December 2007

The Kennis Conversie Fonds B.V. and the Stichting ir. G.J. Smid Fonds invest in Heeii.com

Elkoog B.V., the start-up from Groningen, has developed Heeii.com, which is now on the threshold of a worldwide rollout. The Kennis Conversie Fonds and the Stichting ir. G.J. Smid Fonds endorse the potential of Heeii by means of a recently signed investment.

New Internet service
Heeii is a smart extension for the webbrowser. While the user surfs the Internet, Heeii is on the lookout for other interesting websites. Moreover, on their own Heeii pages, users can see which sites are popular with similar users. Heeii .com continuously offers a top ten of interesting websites which are closely related to the websites that are being visited. When a user goes to another site, Heeii offers more new suggestions. The personal page also reveals which words and websites define the user, with which other surfers the user has a lot in common, and what their favourites are.

Worldwide potential
Marnix Pool, manager of the Kennis Conversie Fonds, attributes worldwide potential to Heeii.com. “Heeii fits the profile of our funds perfectly. It is a young, high-tech company that could add significantly to the innovation power in the Northern Netherlands. It is perfectly in keeping with the spearheads for knowledge development and knowledge transfer that are formulated for this region. The relation with the University of Groningen is mutual sustaining.”

The rollout
“For us, the Netherlands are the stepping stone to Europe and the rest of the world. In the Netherlands we can organise the critical mass that is necessary to be taken seriously by the rest of the world ”, explains Edwin Kuipers, inventor of the system. “We are very ambitious, but we are firmly convinced of the fact that Heeii really is useful for all surfers worldwide.”

“At last, something new and challenging in this field in the Netherlands.”
Nils Rooijmans, Head of Search and Research ilse media

“Heeii is StumbleUpon plus Google Suggestions”

The Kennis Conversie Fonds (KCF) has been established to stop the “gap” in the financing market for techno starters. The KCF is a publicly financed investment fund that is being managed by the holding company of the University of Groningen. The fund invests in young high-tech companies, possibly supported by borrowed capital, but primarily with share capital. This way, the KCF wants to increase the innovation power in the Northern Netherlands. It is perfectly in keeping with the spearheads for knowledge development and knowledge transfer that are formulated for this region. In the next three years KFC aims to start fifteen to twenty technology companies and hopes to create some two hundred new job opportunities.

The ir. G.J. Smid Fonds centres its attention to stimulating employment in the Northern Netherlands by means of participation in technological innovative companies in this region.
